AltruData is a platform that uses trustworthy AI and confidential computing to create safe and reliable data for marketing analysis.
Problem Space
In today’s AI-driven world, datasets are often shared, scraped, and reused — but the people who contribute the data usually don’t know:
Where their data goes？
Who is using it ？
At the same time, many small and medium businesses (SMBs) struggle to access data tools that are trustworthy, scalable, and mutually beneficial.
01｜Research & Market Insight
Collaborated with UCLA Trustworthy AI Lab and reviewed internal discovery interviews with digital marketers and AI researchers.
We identified key challenges:
- Data silos block collaboration among SMBs
- Complex tools discourage adoption
- Lack of user trust in AI-driven data platforms
This helped shape our design goal make data collaboration feel as easy as breathing, without compromising security or control.

02｜Technical Foundation
Built on Data Clean House, a privacy-first data collaboration framework.
Developed by the lab team, the platform integrates three core technologies:
- Differential Privacy: Enables safe data sharing without exposing sensitive content.

- Generative AI: Powers collaborative analytics and insight generation.
My role was to translate these technologies into clear, user-facing interfaces that make complex systems feel intuitive and trustworthy.
